Stripper Fitter / Coachbuilder – Bus & Coach Refurbishment
Clockwork Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding organisation within the bus and coach refurbishment industry. Due to sustained growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Stripper Fitter / Coachbuilder to join their workshop team. This is a growth-driven hire with genuine opportunity for long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stripping and refitting internal and external panels, trims, and components on buses and coaches
- Dismantling and reassembling interiors including flooring, seating, partitions, and luggage areas
- Installing fabricated panels, body components, and interior structures
- Assisting with structural repairs, replacement of frameworks, and fitting of new materials
- Working with aluminium, steel, GRP, timber, and other industry-standard materials
- Ensuring precision alignment and delivering a high-quality finish
- Interpreting and working from technical drawings and specifications
- Complying with workshop safety and quality procedures
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in coachbuilding, vehicle bodywork, or refurbishment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with confidence using hand and power tools
- Skills in cutting, drilling, fastening, shaping, and basic fabrication
- Ability to work on frameworks, panelling, interior fittings, and exterior trim
- Problem-solving ability and exceptional attention to detail
- A positive team player with a proactive approach
- Reliable and able to work within project deadlines
